The Rocky Patel Olde World Reserve Torpedo Maduro.

This is a 5 inch by 54 ring gauge stick.  It has an extremely dark brown oily wrapper that has a terrific aroma. The cigar comes with 2 different labels on it's exterior.  The first is a typical label near the head and the second is a longer sheet of paper that starts at the foot and gives the cigar a very unique look.  The longer label is easy to remove and leaves behind no glue residue.  The cigar is rolled using a maduro wrapper produced in Costa Rica, while the filler and binder are both grown in Nicaragua.

Pre-light inspection:

As mentioned before the cigar is a very dark brown color.  Allegedly Rocky Patel dyes the wrapper leafs on his maduro cigars.  Some people find this to be a negative point, but it undeniably gives the cigar a gorgeous appearance.  The cigar is beautifully constructed with minimal veins and almost invisible seams.  The pre-light draw is almost perfect giving a flavor of cocoa, cream and mocha.  The cigar is a fairly dense pack and feels hefty for its size.

Smoking:

Toasting the foot of the cigar gives off a strong aroma of toast, spice and chocolate.  The initial draw is perfect and it puts off a lot of thick chewy smoke.  This cigar doesn't like to be drawn on a lot as it becomes bitter with the added heat.  However a long smooth draw every minute or so produces extremely flavorful medium body results.  The burn isn't perfect, but it did not require any touch ups.
The cigar was not overly complex as the flavors stayed consistent throughout its duration.  One noticeable change came during the last third with respect to the cigars draw.  As soon as the ash fell off the draw became tighter.  I actually preferred this to the original draw as there was a slight tug that produced very thick smoke with more distinct and intense flavors.

The cigar smoked for nearly one hour.  Overall this was a delicious cigar that was medium bodied and full flavored.
